Top Premier League clubs want to sign ‘this’ Man United flop in January but Jose Mourinho wants something in return: A fair deal?

The summer transfer wrapped up just a couple of weeks ago and some Premier League clubs are already making plans for the January transfer window.

And one team which is desperate to bring in players is Tottenham Hotspur after they failed to make even a single signing during the summer transfer window.

And if reports are to be believed then the Lilywhites are looking to make a move for Manchester United defender Eric Bailly.

Bailly was lauded as the next first-choice centre-back for United but constant injuries and poor form has made sure that the player does not remain at the top of his peak.

And Manchester United already have a stable partnership in the form of Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof so they will not hesitate to let Bailly leave.

But Jose Mourinho does not want money in return of Eric Bailly but instead is looking for a swap deal which could see Spurs defender Toby Alderweireld move to Old Trafford.

Tottenham Hotspur are not the only club who are after the services of Eric Bailly as Arsenal are also said to be interested in the centre-back.

And Jose Mourinho has a very similar offer for the Gunners as well.

While Mourinho wants Alderweireld in return for Eric Bailly if Spurs make a positive move, the United boss could ask for the services of Mesut Ozil if Unai Emery wants to sign the defender.

Mesut Ozil was a target for Manchester United at the start of this year but the former Real Madrid man chose to stay back at the Emirates.

Jose Mourinho though has not given up hopes of signing the German and wants to make a move for him during the January transfer window. And with Eric Bailly part of the deal, the United manager is pretty confident the Gunners will not shy away from a transfer.

Spurs, on the other hand, have a very different kind of problem since they will surely not be ready to spend the absurd amount of money that Manchester United would ask for Eric Bailly so a swap deal for Toby Alderweireld could be a more sensible move for Mauricio Pochettino.
