Chelsea take on Manchester United in the semi-final of the FA Cup this Sunday but midfielder N’Golo Kante will not be available for selection.

The Frenchman has had an injury-riddled season and this time he has picked up a low-level hamstring injury a couple of matches ago. The injury has forced him to miss the last couple of matches for Chelsea and as per Frank Lampard, he will miss out on Sunday as well.

‘The squad is okay but N’Golo Kante won’t be fit for the match,’ Lampard told in his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon.

‘He’s still not right so he’s out.

‘Other than that, we have a few people with a few little niggles which we’ll monitor over the next 24 hours and then we will be ready to go.’

This update is a major cause of concern for the Chelsea manager since Billy Gilmour is also ruled out for the remainder of the season meaning it’s Jorginho who will once again play in defensive midfield.

While the Italian has been steady so far this season but with the kind of firepower that Man United have, it will be really hard for Jorginho to keep a check on the likes of Bruno Fernandes.

Players like Kovacic and Barkley are not particularly known for their defensive contributions which is why N’Golo Kante will be a major miss for Chelsea on Sunday and Man United have the chance to run rampant.
