Celtic look all set to lose this 23 Y/O centre-forward in the summer: Heading to the EPL?

Odsonne Edouard Celtic FC

Leicester City’s move for Patson Daka should have been a big sigh of relief for Celtic’s hopes of holding onto Odsonne Edouard for one more season.

But as per Football Insider, it looks like fellow Premier League side West Ham United have now taken pole position in this transfer race.

The report claims: “The door has opened for West Ham to make a new move for Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard as Leicester City finalise the signing of Patson Daka, Football Insider understands.

“The Irons were among the clubs, along with Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund, who had been rivalling Leicester for Edouard up until recent weeks.

“A West Ham source has told Football Insider that the club are weighing up whether to reignite their Edouard interest after learning of Daka’s imminent move.”

Odsonne Edouard to West Ham United?

Odsonne Edouard was being heavily linked with Leicester City but Brendan Rodgers has eventually chosen to sign Patson Daka from RB Salzburg.

And this seems to have paved the way for David Moyes to get his hands on the 23-year-old Celtic forward.

Michail Antonio is the lone centre-forward for the Hammers right now and since they are going to be playing in Europe next season, Moyes is eager to bring in a top-class player in that department.

Edouard has only one more year left on his contract so Celtic have no other option but to cash in on him this summer. The fans will only be hoping that their side can get a good enough transfer fee in exchange for the Frenchman.

Odsonne Edouard joined Celtic permanently in 2018 from PSG and since then, the forward has scored 83 and assisted 37 goals in 168 games for the Bhoys.
