Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud has fallen badly out of service this season at the club and there have been numerous reports that he will be on his way out this month.

The 33-year-old arrived at Chelsea from Arsenal in hopes of playing for games but during the 2019-20 season, the forward has played in only five Premier League games for the Blues.

And with the transfer window reopening, there have been reports that West Ham United manager David Moyes is interested in signing the forward on a short-term deal possibly until the end of the season.

While some reports claimed that Lampard will not have any problems in letting Olivier Giroud leave but a few experts felt that he would want to hold onto the Frenchman since Michy Batshuayi could also be on his way out.

Now though, the Chelsea boss has opened up on the matter saying that Olivier Giroud will leave the club only if the offer is right.

The manager said as reported: “There’s no update on Ollie. My answer remains the same as it has been recently.

“I’ve spoken with him. If the conditions are that it’s something Ollie really wants to do, and it works for the club, and it works for me and the squad, then that’s something that could happen.

“But only when all three of those bases are covered. So we’re still there.”

This clearly means Lampard is not opposed to the idea of Olivier Giroud moving out which will surely be a big boost for West Ham United.

The Hammers have been linked with a move for the forward and some claim that Moyes will also be happy with a six-month loan deal with possibly an option to buy at the end of it.

UPDATE(6th January 2020):

As per the latest reports, Newcastle United have made contact with Chelsea for a possible loan deal for Olivier Giroud.

This will surely be a big blow for West Ham United who have been trying to bring in some defensive reinforcements and were said to be in pursuit of the Chelsea outcast.

But one big ray of hope for the Hammers is the fact that Newcastle United have been informed that the forward will only be allowed to leave once Chelsea manage to bring in a replacement.
