Everton came agonisingly close to breaking in the top six last season but this time Marco Silva is determined to bring back European football to Goodison Park.

This summer, the Toffees have made a number of fine signings including bringing in Moise Kean from Juventus.

Marco Silva has also chosen to strengthen his midfield area by bringing in players like Fabian Delph and Jean Gbamin and during in the opening game of the season, Everton will take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Everton team news vs Palace:

Fabian Delph is undoubtedly a fine addition to the squad but right now the midfielder is recovering from a pelvic injury which puts him in doubt for the game vs Palace.

But Manuel Pellegrini has hinted that Delph could be fit in time to take play at Selhurst Park.

“Fabian’s injury looked to be nothing special but let’s see in the next few days. We will have to wait some more hours.” the manager said during the weekend.

Defensive midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin is also expected to play a key role but Silva has hinted that the 23-year-old could take some time to adjust to life at the club.

“He started training [Saturday], but he hasn’t done anything for 3/4 weeks. Will he be ready in 3-4 days?

“Of course not. Let’s see how he works this week and adapts to the different methodologies.”

Andre Gomes has joined permanently from FC Barcelona and should start in midfield alongside Fabian Delph while Yerry Mina should play alongside Michael Keane in central defence.

Moise Kean is without a doubt the start signing for Marco Silva this summer but we have a feeling that the manager might not hand him a start given that this is an away game for Everton.

On paper, this should be an even contest but given that Palace has had a really unsettling summer transfer window we feel that that the momentum will be with the Merseyside outfit.
