Manchester United duo Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay have been on the sidelines for a really long time now but they were expected to be fit and available for selection right after the winter break.
Man United take on Chelsea right after the break and there had been reports claiming both Paul Pogba and McTominay could be fit in time to be a part of this match.
And speaking to the press, the manager had also admitted that his medical and coaching staff have time in their hands in order to get the injured players back on their feet.
“They’ll have a week or so off and we’ve got more days [rest] because we’re playing Chelsea on Monday,” said Solskjaer, as per the Manchester Evening News.
“So we’ll get together on Saturday and we’ll have a good camp, working on different things.
“Of course, we’ve got a few new players, hopefully, we can integrate them into the squad.
“[The players] have been fantastic. We’ve had to, with all the injuries we’ve had, rely on many of these to maybe play more games than they should, and they’ve been brilliant.
“Yes, we’ve had ups and downs, but it shows that we do miss the injured players so, yeah, it’ll be a nice break and I think it’s about time we had that in England.
“I think all teams will get their energy levels back.”
But both Pogba and McTominay have been left out of United’s warm-weather training camp during the break which has led many people to believe that they might not be fit in time.
Obviously the duo are yet to return back to full training meaning as things stand they remain sidelined for the Chelsea game but having if they can somehow get back into first-team training at the start of next week then there’s a big chance that both Paul Pogba and his midfield partner get to play against Chelsea.
