Chelsea forward Pedro has opened up about his rumoured move out of Stamford Bridge after not having made it to the World Cup squad in Spain.
Pedro joined Chelsea from Barcelona in 2015 and back then it seemed to be a fantastic buy.
The Spanish international has gone on to win the Premier League and the FA Cup with the Blues during his stay in London but last season saw Pedro’s game time dimish quite considerably.
The 30-year-old managed to make only 48 appearances in all competitions last season and most of them were off the bench.
And for months now there have been whispers in the English media that the forward is planning to move out of Stamford Bridge during the summer transfer window in search of greener pastures.
But in a recent interview, the Spaniard made it pretty clear that he is not planning to move out during the summer and will honour his contract with Chelsea.
Speaking to Cadena SER, Pedro said: “Obviously I have a contract at Chelsea and most likely I will stay. I’m good here,” he said.
“I’m very comfortable with my team-mates and, in football terms, I’m very happy for having won the Premier League and the FA Cup in three years. I’m happy because it’s always difficult to win trophies in England.
“I’m enjoying my holidays right now, getting some rest and spending time with family, and then start the new season in the best way.
“It was difficult and very unlikely because of how the season had gone.
“I think he[Spain national team’s coach] was right in that decision. I have appeared less for the team this year and evidently, the best players have to go at all times.”
