Mauricio Pochettino Chelsea manager

Mauricio Pochettino was recently sacked by Tottenham Hotspur and right now the South American is favourite to take charge of Arsenal.

Just a couple of months ago, Spurs were playing in the Champions League final under the guidance of Pochettino but this season they have clearly failed to step up and right now are even struggling to make it to the top-four.

So with a string of poor results, Daniel Levy chose to show Poch the door and wasted no time in bringing in Jose Mourinho as a replacement.

And now that Arsenal have dropped points once again in the Premier League – this time against Southampton there have been growing rumours that Unai Emery could be sacked very soon.

While Arsenal’s head of football are against this idea but if reports are to be believed then it’s the board who are not too satisfied with the Spaniard and want him out asap.

If Emery is sent out then Mauricio Pochettino will surely be approached to take charge at the Emirates despite him claiming a few months back that he would not manage the North London club due to his love for Spurs.

But as we know everything is possible in football so it shouldn’t come as a surprise if Poch chooses to take the job at the Emirates.

Now though as per a report in The Mirror, Daniel Levy might just have added a clause in the South American’s contract which bars him from managing arch-rivals Arsenal.

While Mirror does not report this with absolute certainty but given the shrewd person that Levy is, we wouldn’t rule such a clause out totally.

And if this is indeed the case then the Gunners could look at Mikel Artera as a long-term replacement but that move will only be possible at the end of the current season.
