The Premier League has come up with yet another update and it seems to be a positive one for all the clubs as well as the fans.

The authorities have released a statement in which they have emphasised on the importance of listening to the healthcare officials as a guideline to finish the remaining matches in the 2019-20 season.

And this response came due to the fact that some of the clubs had reportedly been pushing the Premier League to conclude the current season before the 30th of June since that is when most of the players’ contracts are due to end.

The statement read, via MEN: “We are acutely aware of the distress COVID-19 is causing and our thoughts are with all those directly affected by the pandemic.

“In common with other businesses and industries, the Premier League and our clubs are working through complex planning scenarios. We are actively engaging with stakeholders, including broadcast partners, and our aim is to ensure we are in a position to resume playing when it is safe to do so and with the full support of the government.

“The health and well-being of players, coaches, managers, club staff, and supporters are our priority and the league will only restart when medical guidance allows.

“Today’s shareholders’ meeting provided an opportunity to discuss possible scheduling models. It remains our objective to complete the 2019-20 season but at this stage, all dates are tentative while the impact of COVID-19 develops.

“In response to the pandemic, the PL, our clubs and players have provided vital support for communities and the NHS and will continue to do so after matches recommence.”

Earlier some reports have claimed the EPL authorities were really eager to wrap up the league as soon as possible but now it seems they are finally thinking sensibly.

Right now, the Premier League has been suspended indefinitely and by the looks of it, even though the management wants to finish all the remaining 92 matches but they will only do so when the condition is appropriate.
