Ibrox Rangers

Rangers FC appointed Steven Gerrard as their new manager during the summer and with the arrival of the Liverpool legend, the Ibrox outfit have a new buzz about them.

Gerrard has so far made eleven new signings during the summer transfer window and a handful of more players can still arrive before the end of the month.

And all this overhaul has prompted many Gers fans to believe that finally, the glory days will come back to the club.

While the fans are pretty optimistic about winning the Scottish Premiership this season almost all the pundits and ex-players feel that Gerrard’s side won’t be able to topple the Hoops from their throne at the end of this season.

Many feel that the Light Blues will give a strong fight to their Old Firm rivals but eventually, it will be Celtic who will lift the title.

But after luck a single loss for Brendan Rodgers’ side, it seems that the tide has turned in favour of Rangers.

Celtic FC suffered their first defeat of the season this weekend when they lost 1-0 away to Hearts.

And immediately after the loss, odds of Rangers winning the league have been slashed considerably.

According to reports, Rangers have attracted a mountainous 69.72 per cent of all bets on the eventual winner of the league since the Bhoys lost at Tynecastle and Gerrard’s team are now 5/1 favourites to lift the trophy.

Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek said: “It’s early days, but Celtic’s campaign has got off to a sticky start both domestically and in Europe.

“Could this be the effect of Gerrard’s arrival at Rangers putting the pressure on? Punters evidently believe that they are ready to swoop.”

Before Celtic stumbled against Hearts, the odds of Rangers winning the league stood at 9/1 so you can imagine what the odds will look like if Brendan Rodgers’ men lose a couple of more games during the first half of the season.

Celtic take on Partick Thistle in the Scottish League Cup after which they welcome Hamilton at Celtic Park.
