Kyle Lafferty
Kyle Lafferty to Rangers

Rangers FC travel to Celtic Park on Sunday for the season’s first Old Firm Derby and Steven Gerrard might have some tough decisions to make before the Light Blues take the field.

Rangers have been tipped as the favourites to win the season’s first derby but that is by a very small margin.

Rangers’ team news:

Steven Gerrard decided to scrap the familiar 4-3-3 formation against Motherwell last weekend and chose to play with a 3-5-2. But that change did not go very well for the Light Blues after they were held to a 3-3 draw.

After the match, everyone thought that Steven Gerrard would accept his mistake and revert back to the 4-3-3 but instead, the manager chose to defend the formation and insisted that he could use it in the future.

And we feel that the manager will once again play three at the back when Rangers take on Celtic on Sunday.

This means that James Tavernier and Borna Barisic will be used as wing-backs in order to accommodate Alfredo Morelos and Kyle Lafferty up front.

The three-man back will consist of Jon Flanagan, Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic all of whom will be playing their first Old Firm Derby.

Lassana Coulibaly remains a major doubt for the fixture even though Steven Gerrard has insisted that the midfielder is trying hard to make himself fit. In the absence of Coulibaly, the midfield will see the trio of Ryan Jack, Scott Arfield and Ejaria.

Rangers’ predicted line-up vs Celtic:

Goalkeeper: Allan McGregor

Defence: Nikola Katic, Connor Goldson, Jon Flanagan

Midfield: James Tavernier, Ovie Ejaria, Scott Arfield, Ryan Jack, Borna Barisic

Attack: Alfredo Morelos, Kyle Lafferty
