Rangers vs Leipzig

Rangers FC are currently out in the market looking to bring in a new defender who can provide the back up to the pair of Nikola Katic and Connor Goldson.

And it seems that the Light Blues are looking at Manchester City for help.

Pep Guardiola’s team recently signed defender Philippe Sandler from Dutch top division side PEC Zwolle and the youngster could be on his way to Scotland.

The young centre-back has signed a four year deal with the club but is expected to be loaned out during the current season.

And it seems that Rangers FC are willing to bring him to Ibrox on a season-long loan deal.

Bill Young from RockSports Radio has claimed that the Light Blues are one of the three clubs that want Philippe Sandler on loan from Manchester City.

He also adds that while City are willing to let the 21-year-old move to the Scottish League but Pep Guardiola wants assurances that Philippe Sandler will receive game time during his stay in Glasgow.

Young said: “Rangers one of 3 clubs looking closely at Phillipe Sandler of Manchester City CB but City looking for assurances on game time. So says Dances with Bears, so could be a bit of a lottery this one. Expect the last Laff as I said in the next 48.”

Nikola Katic and Connor Goldson are without a doubt the first choice pairing for Steven Gerrard during the current season so if Philippe Sandler does join from Manchester City then he will not receive a lot of game time in the Scottish League.

But if the Light Blues manage to get into the Europa League then Philippe Sandler is sure to play quite a few matches in Europe as well as the cup competitions.
