Arsenal have made a terrible start to the new Premier League season losing both their opening games.

In all fairness to the Gunners, their first two games have been against Man City and Chelsea so things can only go uphill from here on.

But a number of fans have criticized the way their team has played during these two games and many of them are blaming Unai Emery’s flawed tactics for the humiliating losses.

Now speaking to the press, January signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan has lifted the lid on the situation and has revealed how the manager wants the players to play.

Talking to Sky Sports(via the Mirror), Mkhitaryan said: “We have to keep working because we have a new manager, a new philosophy and want to play in a different way than before under Wenger,

“He wants to play football and dominate the game and that’s what we’re doing, we’re not just kicking the ball up front.

“It’s not too easy but we are trying to achieve that and do what the coach is asking from us.

“We’re not happy with the result but we know where we’re going, what we’re doing, what the coach is demanding from us and we’re trying to do that.

“The most important thing is to stay positive, believe in ourselves and to keep working the same way and the result will come,

“Maybe it can work, maybe it won’t, but we are going to try and we want to win, that is the main thing.”

While Unai Emery’s plans of dominating a game are very noble but in order to play that way, he would need a midfielder who can take charge of midfield.

And sadly, he does not have one right now.

Granit Xhaka would be the obvious choice for that kind of role given that he is the senior pro in the team but his performances have been way below average during the opening two matches.

Arsenal take on West Ham United at home this Saturday and this is the perfect opportunity for Unai Emery to execute his plans given that the Hammers midfield has been equally wayward during their first two games that they have played.
