Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has had to heavily rely on young players this season and one of the standouts has been Reece James.

Chelsea weren’t able to sign any new players during the summer transfer window which meant the likes of Mason Mount and Tomori were set to get more game time for the club during the course of the season.

And while the above-mentioned duo have done exceptionally well but Reece James seems to have caught the attention of many a people.

Several pundits and former Chelsea players have raved about the full-back and now BBC pundit Garth Crooks has also joined into the action.

“This lad has caught my eye before and I’m not in the least bit surprised he has finally made my team,” Crooks told BBC Sport.

“He is starting to look like the real deal. Some of you may remember me admonishing him after Chelsea’s defeat against West Ham when Aaron Cresswell got the better of him.

“The Chelsea youngster seems to have learned a lesson from that experience and is impressive in defence and attack.”

So far during the 2019-20 season, Reece James has played in 11 Premier League games and slowly the youngster has been getting more game time.

Azpilicueta still remains the first-choice right-back for Frank Lampard but it’s no secret that the Chelsea manager is trying to make Reece James his first-choice right-back and with the way the player’s been performing we feel he will be able to achieve this goal by the end of this season.
