Arsenal will kick off their Europa League campaign this week when they take on Eintracht Frankfurt away from home. And if reports are to be believed then Rob Holding could be part of the matchday squad.

The defender ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee while playing against  Manchester United last December and since then, he has been out on the sidelines.

A couple of weeks ago, there were reports that Rob Holding had finally returned back to full training and he was expected to make his comeback sometime towards the end of September.

Now though according to the Daily Mail, Rob Holding is fit to feature vs Eintracht in the Europa League clash on Thursday.

Both the goals that Arsenal conceded vs Watford came through defensive errors from the centre-backs and the manager was clearly not happy with the lapses.

Speaking after the match, the Spaniard told talkSPORT: “We conceded some mistakes which were very dangerous for us.

“The first goal is like that, but we need to learn and correct that.

“The result is disappointing for us because after 2-0, we had chances in the second half to win, but we can only work on our mistakes today for the next matches.

“They [Watford] deserved it because their game plan imposed our game plan in the second half.”

VERDICT:

The return of Rob Holding will surely be a massive boost for Unai Emery but we do not think the 23-year-old will be risked from the start.

If Holding does manage to travel with the squad then he will find a place on the bench at best and might come on towards the end of the match if the Gunners have managed to wrap up the tie.

But we do expect to see one change in central defence as Callum Chambers is expected to come into the starting Xi in place of either Sokratis or David Luiz.
