Rangers FC have finally managed to sign Liverpool winger Ryan Kent on a permanent deal – both the clubs have confirmed.

Ryan Kent spent the last season out on loan to Rangers and Gerrard had plans to bring him back for one more season.

While some reports claimed that the Gers would want to sign him permanently but that was proving to be too difficult given that Liverpool were quoting around £10 million for the youngster.

But thankfully the Premier League outfit has lowered their asking price and now Ryan Kent has joined on a four-year deal for a transfer fee of £7 million.

Steven Gerrard had made it pretty clear at the start of the summer that he was willing to wait until deadline day in order to bring back the winger.

And now Rangers’ director of football Mark Allen has hailed Liverpool in the way that they have helped the Premiership club.

Speaking to talkSPORT host Jim White, Allen said: “We made our intention very clear at the start of the window; Ryan was a key target and we got there in the end.

“Liverpool Football Club have been fantastic first and foremost in what they’ve done and helped us trying to get this over the line.

“A lot of credit needs to go to Liverpool for that.

“Ryan enjoyed his time at Rangers and he was obviously keen to come back, but the respect enjoyed between the two clubs helped us get him.

“It says a lot for the support and vision of the board in terms of where it wants to get Rangers to, and we’re in a sustainable place now where Rangers can move forward.”

It was no secret that Liverpool had no use of Ryan Kent this season but Klopp wanted to keep his exit on hold since a number of his first-team players joined the squad pretty late in the summer.

But now that the Liverpool boss has things up and running in his squad, there was no need to keep Ryan Kent and Steven Gerrard waiting any longer.
