Liverpool will be without Sadio Mane when the Reds travel to London to take on West Ham United in the Premier League on Wednesday.

Sadio Mane picked up an injury during Liverpool’s win over Wolves last week and had to be taken off the pitch during the first half of the match.

And speaking afterwards, their German manager did not look too optimistic about his chances of playing against the Hammers in midweek.

The manager had told reporters: “No, I think he is in the scan in this moment.

“They didn’t call me out of the scan, so, no. [Fingers crossed], yes.”

And now in the pre-match press conference, Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Sadio Mane is likely to miss out of the West Ham United game as well as the Southampton match which is scheduled for the weekend.

“Sadio will not be involved for West Ham and probably not for Southampton,” the boss said as reported by the club’s official website.

“After that, he should be then fine. The week we have then after that is for him perfect to get back on track.

“He has a small muscle tear, which is serious enough to keep him out. We were lucky with the injury as well, so it was not that serious.”

Apart from Sadio Mane, Liverpool will also be without midfielder James Milner with the club confirming that he is yet to fully recover from his muscular injury.

The team news report adds: “But James Milner is likely to sit out the West Ham clash with the muscular injury he sustained in the third round of the FA Cup.”

With Sadio Mane out of action, it will be Divock Origi who will occupy that position on the left flank when the Reds take on David Moyes’ West Ham United.
