Rangers Team News
Scott Arfield Rangers FC

Rangers FC signed midfielder Scott Arfield from Burnley at the end of the previous season and the Canadian was one of the first signings for the club during the summer.

And so far Steven Gerrard has clearly shown that the midfielder will be an integral part of the first team.

Scott Arfield has so far played three out of the four games in the Scottish Premiership but the next game that the midfielder will play will surely be a huge contract to the life in Scotland.

Arfield is currently with the Canadian team right now as the North American side are competing in the CONCACAF Nations League qualifiers.

And this weekend, Canada is set to take on the US Virgin Islands but the game will be played in mainland USA.

This is because the tiny Carribean Island does not have an adequate home stadium hence the match will be played inside a 1500-capacity IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

Yes, a 1500-capacity stadium.

And speaking before the game, Arfield said: “Anyone who’s been around football knows you can’t take any team lightly. There are regular upsets in the Cups.

“And I don’t think we’re in a position to do so either at Canada. I don’t think we are regarded as a top nation, so I don’t think we should go in with that attitude whatsoever.

“I think if you take anybody lightly in this game, in football, then you’re going to be a loser straight away. We’re looking at this game being as important as facing one of the top countries, like Mexico.”

This match against the US Virgin Islands is a stark contrast with the last game that Scott Arfield played last weekend infront of 58,000 spectators when Rangers visited Celtic.
