Arsenal kicked off their Premier League campaign with two back-to-back defeats at the hands of Manchester City and Chelsea and with that the fans started believing that their team might not qualify for the Champions League this season two.

But wins against West Ham United and Cardiff City have calmed the nerves a bit and now the Gunners have the chance to make a hattrick of wins when they take on Newcastle United after the international break.

And before the games, Arsenal manager Unai Emery has been handed with a huge selection boost.

Alex Iwobi who was tipped to leave the club during the summer transfer window ultimately stayed back and then went on to make a pretty impactful start to the new season.

But the fans were a bit shocked when the 22-year-old was left out of the squad from the game against Cardiff City.

Unai Emery later confirmed that the forward missed the match through illness and now Alex Iwobi’s father Chuka Iwobi has confirmed that his son will also miss Nigeria’s match against Seychelles.

While this will be disappointing news for the Nigerian fans but Iwobi’s father has claimed that the forward will be fit to play the Newcastle vs Arsenal game.

Talking to allnigeriasoccer, Chuka said: “Thanks for the concern. Indeed it was sad for Alex that he wasn’t in the squad for the Arsenal match versus Cardiff and had to withdraw from National Team for the match versus Seychelles,”

“He is on the road to recovery and should be back before the game against Newcastle.

“He loves playing for Nigeria and was extremely disappointed (not to be available for the game against Seychelles).”

This will surely be great news for Unai Emery as Alex Iwobi has been one of the best players in the squad during the new campaign and the Nigerian was easily the match of the match for the Gunners during the Chelsea game at Stamford Bridge.
