Man City news Sergio Aguero

Man City are expected to miss Kevin De Bruyne when the Citizens take on Arsenal in the Premier League on Wednesday and it seems like Sergio Aguero could be an absentee too.

The Belgian international picked up a shoulder injury during City’s Carabao Cup final vs Aston Villa and speaking before Manchester Derby, Pep Guardiola had hinted that the playmaker could take some more time to be fit.

“He is getting better,” the Spaniard said in his pre-match press conference. “Today we didn’t train and tomorrow he will improve.

“This morning he was with the physio and he said he feels better.

“Not perfect, but he feels better but he doesn’t feel 100%.

“And we don’t take risks. We have three important games in the Premier League but of course, the position that we have, Madrid and Newcastle are the real important games for us.”

De Bruyne did not feature against Manchester United on Sunday and as per the latest rumours, he could also be unavailable for selection vs Arsenal.

And if this setback was not enough, then Sergio Aguero might have also picked up a knock during the derby as he was seen with an ice pack on his thigh immediately after he was taken off in the second half.

The reports claim that Sergio Aguero did receive treatment on his leg after the game and some rumours claim the Argentine could miss out on Wednesday.

While these reports are not concrete but surely the Man City fans will be a bit worried.

Will De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero both miss out?

Without De Bruyne, Manchester City looked toothless against Manchester United and if the playmaker cannot be fit in time then surely the Arsenal defenders will be able to breathe a lot easier.

And on top of that, if Sergio Aguero is also in serious doubt then there’s every chance that Mikel Arteta might take the risk of playing Pablo Mari in central defence alongside David Luiz.

We have a feeling that the Argentine’s injury is not as serious as everyone is fearing it to be and he should be fit in time to play on Wednesday. But at the same time, we have serious doubts over De Bruyne’s participation.
