Rangers FC brought in Sheyi Ojo on a season-long loan deal from Premier League club Liverpool FC during the last summer transfer window.

And now if reports are to be believed then the Gers are already planning to make the loan deal permanent.

Sheyi Ojo has come up through the ranks at Liverpool but the winger has failed to break into the Reds first-team squad and has only managed to move around Europe on various loan spells.

But during his time in Scotland, the 22-year-old has caught the eye of many a people and it looks like Steven Gerrard is planning to keep him on board beyond the 2019-20 season.

According to Football Insider, the Gers managed have held internal meetings regarding the permanent buying of Sheyi Ojo and so far the talks have been moving in the right direction.

The report states: “Ibrox sources have told Football Insider the club hierarchy have talked internally about converting the loan into a full-time transfer just as they did with Ryan Kent.”

Sheyi Ojo has so far featured in 17 games across all competitions for Rangers and has already managed to net five goals and provide 4 assists for the Glasgow outfit.

And it looks like the Premiership club do not want to dilly dally on the decision just as they did with Ryan Kent.

Kent also arrived at the club on loan but Rangers had to really sweat it out in order to sign him permanently.

But we don’t believe such a thing will be repeated since Sheyi Ojo was nowhere close to breaking into the Liverpool first-team before his loan move to Ibrox.

Gerrard has a great relationship with Jurgen Klopp and surely the German boss will not hesitate to sell off Sheyi Ojo if Rangers are willing to pay the right price.

Currently, TransferMarkt values the winger at around €2 million but surely Liverpool wouldn’t let the player leave for that price so it will be interesting to see just how much Rangers will have to shell out in case they are serious about signing Ojo.
