Out-of-favour Arsenal man heading out this month: But does Arteta have a backup?

0

Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi is planning on moving out of the Emirates this month – as per the latest reports.

The 27-year-old joined Arsenal in 2016 from Valencia but has yet to win over the home support since most of his performances have been below par.

Under Unai Emery, he was expected to move out of the club during the last summer transfer window but somehow the manager thought otherwise and since then he’s gone on to make just three Premier League appearances for Arsenal this campaign.

And now that Mikel Arteta has taken charge of the Gunners, the new boss is more than adamant of getting rid of all the deadwood which is why reports are suggesting that Shkodran Mustafi is on his way to Turkish Galatasaray.

As per the report, the Turkish side are desperate to sign Mustafi after their defender after an injury to Christian Luyindama who ruptured his cruciate ligament.

It’s being reported that Shkodran Mustafi’s agent is set to hold talks with the club’s representatives on the player’s request meaning a move is just around the corner.

While Arsenal will not hesitate to let him leave this month but we believe they will only let him go only when they are able to bring in a new central defender.

Shkodran Mustafi – Arsenal

Calum Chambers has been ruled out with a serious injury meaning there’s no way Arteta will let Shkodran Mustafi leave until he gets his hands on some reinforcements.

Arsenal spent £35 million in order to sign Mustafi from Valencia but there’s no way they have think of recovering that whole amount this month but right now TransferMarkt values him at £12.84 million and the Gunners should be wanting a similar figure from Galatasaray.
