Chelsea are ready to offer Sterling in a swap deal for this 22Y/O English winger but will he be a sensible signing for Pochettino?

Chelsea hold a long-standing interest in Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise and as per Graeme Bailey, the Blues are now planning for an exchange deal.

The Blues failed to land Olise last summer and since then, the winger has not only signed a new deal but his stocks have also risen massively. A fine season with Palace has ensured that clubs like Man United, Arsenal and Liverpool are all interested in the winger which is why Chelsea are thinking out of the box.

Michael Olise has a £60 million release clause in his new deal but the Blues are planning to approach Crystal Palace with an exchange offer that will see Raheem Sterling head the other way.

Should Chelsea dump Sterling to sign Michael Olise?

Sterling has failed to replicate his form from Manchester City and since joining Chelsea, the winger has managed to score just 17 goals in 78 appearances. This season, like every other Chelsea player, Sterling has also struggled to find form and in 28 league games, he has had only 10 goal contributions.

Apart from Raheem Sterling, Pochettino also has Mykhaylo Mudryk who is a left-winger and even Christopher Nkunku can play in that position which is why with ample backup, the Blues can afford to let him leave in the summer. Also, by offloading the England international, Chelsea will be able to substantially reduce their wage bills.

Now, coming to the right-wing role, the Blues are badly in need of new of a quality right-sided forward which is why they should go all out for Michael Olise. Noni Madueke is the only recognised right-winger in the current Chelsea squad and the 22-year-old has been very underwhelming.

Cole Palmer has played on the right several times this season but the youngster is a proper No. 10 and Olise’s arrival will allow him to play in his natural position next season.

Nkunku and Michael Olise out wide with Cole Palmer playing in the No 10 role will be a great combination and if Chelsea can just go out and sign a new and effective striker, they will have one of the best attacks in the Premier League.

Olise has been on song for the Eagles this season, scoring 9 and assisting another 4 goals in just 17 league matches and if Chelsea are really serious about offering a player like Raheem Sterling to Crystal Palace then they will definitely be at the top of the pecking order.
