West Ham United manager David Moyes is reportedly interested in signing Newcastle United right-back Javier Manquillo during the summer – as per Spanish publication Estadio Deportivo.

Javier Manquillo joined the Maggies in 2017 from Atletico Madrid for a fee of around 5 million euros and his current deal at St James’ Park is set to expire at the end of the 2019-20 season.

This campaign, the 26-year-old has played in only 13 Premier League matches so far and has managed to provide only a single assist for Steve Bruce’s men.

But David Moyes has worked with him previously during the player’s loan stint with Sunderland which is why the Hammers boss is so eager to get him on board.

Should West Ham United sign Javier Manquillo?

We can understand why West Ham United want to land Javier Manquillo in the summer but if he arrives, young Jeremy Ngakia might choose to move out of the club.

As per reports, the 19-year-old has already rejected a new offer from the Hammers but still, the London club are confident the right-back will accept the terms of the new deal.

But if West Ham United were to bring in someone like Manquillo then inevitably Ngakia will look for greener pastures in the summer.

Obviously Steve Bruce will have no say in this matter since Manquillo will be a free agent in the summer but as far as Moyes is concerned, the Hammers boss should give this one some real thought.

Ngakia is highly rated by the Hammers academy and as per Claret and Hugh, the player wants a £20k basic wage under the terms of his new deal, Now West Ham United will have to decide whether they wish to invest in the future or look for a more instant solution.
