Roy Keane and Sir Alex Ferguson had a very pubic fall-out back in the day at Man United and as a result of this, the midfielder left the club in 2005 in a rather sour note.
Many believe that a number of reasons added up this incident – a training ground bust-up, Roy Keane and his strained relationship with Queiroz and most importantly the midfielder’s infamous interview with MUFC where he slammed his Man United teammates.
And while everyone thought the whole incident had been pushed under the carpet but suddenly out of nowhere Roy Keane chose to bring up that topic earlier this week.
Roy Keane went on to explain how he could never forgive Sir Alex Ferguson for what he had done and also revealed how the Scott chose to favour his family members while he was the manager at Man United.
Now though, Gary Neville has come out to reveal details of what happened during that period claiming to the fact that somethings that Roy Keane said in that interview were actually vile. Which the former midfielder keeps denying till date.
“I’d seen this happen to David Beckham over a period of six to eight months at United,” Neville told Off The Ball(as quoted by MEN). “With Roy and the manager, there was always a chance that it would come to this.
“The manager came down into the dressing room and the minute he said we needed to watch the video, I just thought that’s it.
“I knew Roy, I knew the manager and I just thought that was it. There were things that were said in that room.
“A moment where you spoke to Carlos … and there was just no way this was going to carry on.
“That meeting was horrific when we watched the video. It’s not funny, honestly, it was horrific. For lads in the dressing room who were at the club 10, 15 years, to see this happening was horrific.
“You couldn’t say anything, you were just thinking, ‘for f***’s sake you knew that was it.
“From our point of view as players, we didn’t have a problem. We’d worked with Roy for 12 years and I think his interview after Bayern Munich [in 2001] was actually worse.
“Would Roy Keane the manager have gotten rid of Roy Keane the player after that meeting,” asked Neville of Roy Keane. “I think you would.”
