Solskjaer advised to follow in the footsteps of Klopp and Jose Mourinho: Here’s why

Manchester United United have been blowing hot and cold this season and their poor home form has been a real cause of concern for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season.

United have picked up four wins out of their previous five Premier League matches and they are currently fourth on the table. But the major concern for all the fans is that their club has failed to win any silverware under Ole’s regime.

Most people agree that performance-wise Manchester United have moved forward but they don’t have any trophies to show for it. The pressure is building up on Solskjaer to deliver trophies and now Gary Neville has advised him to take a lead out of his managerial counterparts.

Neville told The Overlap, as quoted by MEN: “I think it has got to a point where he thinks he can do a little bit of what Sir Alex [Ferguson] used to do, where has got 22 players and they’re all good players.

“I can hear him [Ferguson] speaking, actually. He said: ‘You’re all good players, I trust you and I can bring five in there’.

“But if you look at Jose [Mourinho], Pep [Guardiola] and Jurgen Klopp when they were trying to win trophies and establish winning trophies, they did keep a more consistent team.

“He has to keep a more consistent team in the league, and the league is going to be the competition that makes or breaks him.

“Yes, of course, he could win the Champions League, but he does have to win the league at some point. You cannot keep spending money and not winning the league.”

Ole Solskjaer has managed 171 games since taking charge back in 2019 and he’s managed to steady the ship and also bring in a healthy atmosphere into the squad.

But most pundits feel Solskjaer lacks the ruthless attitude which is required to win trophies and this is why Neville wants him to use some tactics from the pages of Pep or Jose’s books.

This summer Ole has been backed by big-money transfers so he has no excuse for not winning trophies. And we believe that if Man United cannot win a silverware by the end of this season then the board will not shy away from sacking the Norwegian.
