Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has done a pretty decent job with Man United since taking over but they were knocked out of the Europa League, losing the semi-final 2-1 to Sevilla this past Sunday.
And with this loss, the 2019-20 season officially comes to an end for the Red Devils and Solskjaer will now quickly have to shift his focus to the new Premier League season which starts within a couple of weeks time.
The short break means that the Man United manager will have very limited to chalk out a plan for the 2020-21 season and this will have to be done with the transfer window still active.
Due to the limited pause, the summer transfer window will run fairly deep into the new season which is why Solskjaer has hinted that he along with his team will have to tread carefully in the coming weeks.
“It’s going to be a strange summer,” Solskjaer said, as per Standard.
“We’ve only got a couple of weeks away from each other before we get going again. That’s going to be a mental challenge.
“Of course, we’re going to keep pushing and keep demanding more of the players we have but still we’re looking to improve. It’s a strange one.
“The League starts very quickly but the market is open for so long. We’ve got to be smart and clever.
“Well, I cannot say when or if transfers are going to be done. We’ll need to look at it and we’ll have to sit down.
“It’s a quick turnaround and we’ve got to be 100 per cent sure when we make those deals.”
The 2020-21 Premier League will kick off on September 12th meaning Man United will get less than a month to prepare for the campaign and also bring in as many new signings as possible.
