Manchester United confirmed on Tuesday that the club have reached an agreement with Shakhtar Donetsk to sign Brazilian midfielder Fred. And this news could possibly be worrying signs for Tottenham Hotspur.

According to a couple of reports, after United complete, all the formalities for the Fred deal they will make a move for Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Toby Alderweireld.

Mourinho is expected to bring in a new centre-back during the summer transfer window and the manager’s inclination towards Alderweireld is no secret.

The Belgium International recently claimed that he would love to stay with the Lilywhites but his ultimate future lies with the club.

This statement where the player has seemingly shouldered all the responsibility to the club has got Mauricio Pochettino a bit worried and reports suggest that the Spurs boss is looking at other alternatives.

The London outfit are planning to make a move for Newcastle United centre-back Jamaal Lascelles.

As per the report, Newcastle United are willing to sell the player during the summer but the Magpies want a transfer fee in the region of £45 million for the 24-year-old.

Lascelles joined Newcastle United in August of 2014 and since then the English born footballer has made 103 appearances for the Magpies.

In the 2017-18 season, Lascelles made 35 appearances in all competitions – scoring 3 goals.

Spurs though are not the only club who are interested in making a move for Jamaal with clubs like Chelsea and Everton also waiting in the queue.

Chelsea are set to release David Luiz during the summer and Roman Abramovich is planning to bring in a new centre-back.

Everton are also interested in Lascelles and if reports are to believed then the Merseyside outfit are already preparing a bid of £30 million for the centre-back.
