Premier League forward named most valuable footballer: And no, it’s not Mo Salah

England and Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been named the most valuable footballer according to a study done by the CIES Football Observatory.

The CIES Football Observatory algorithm uses 19 variables such as a player’s age, goals scored by him, position, league of employment to determine a player’s worth. And according to this algorithm, Harry Kane’s current valuation stands at €201.2 million.

This means that the English International is more valued than the likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar.

Even Liverpool’s Mo Salah who had such a fairytale season ranks well below Harry Kane in the 5th position and is valued at €171.3 million.

Harry Kane who is at the top of the table is followed by PSG’s Neymar who is valued at €197.5 million and then by another PSG star Kylian Mbappe who is worth €186.5 million.

The top ten players on the list are:

4. Lionel Messi

5. Mo Salah

6. Dele Alli

7. Kevin De Bruyne

8. Antoine Griezmann

9. Paolo Dybala

10. Romelu Lukaku.

France is the most represented country on the list with 16 players making it to the top 100.




Real Madrid star and recent Champions League winner Cristiano Ronaldo ranks a surprising 24(valued at €103.4 million) and is behind the likes of Roberto Firmino and Christian Eriksen.
