Spurs reached the Champions League final just last season but within just a couple of months, their fortunes have changed completely.

Mauricio Pochettino who at one point in time could do no wrong just cannot seem to get things right this season and the Lilywhites have already suffered some really humiliating defeats.

Right now, Spurs are ninth in the league with just 11 points and have managed to win just 3 out of their first 8 matches. And to add to that they also suffered a humiliating 7-2 loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League a couple of weeks ago.

In their last Premier League match, Spurs went down 3-0 to Brighton away from home and this week many believe they might suffer the same fate when they take on Watford.

Watford have failed to register even a single win this season but under new boss Quique Sanchez Florez, the team seems to be showing a newfound resilience.

And according to Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas, the Hornets have what it takes to cause an upset when they take on Spurs.

He wrote: “Watford will be working away with Quique Sanchez Flores, despite some poor results since coming back to the club, with Tottenham coming back at sixes and sevens after the international break.

“They are all over the place.

“Christian Eriksen remains unhappy, Dele Alli did not receive an England call-up, with their unpredictable defence topping it off.

“More woes for Tottenham.”

Spurs are really in a fix and if they cannot get things back on track vs Watford this weekend then surely they will be finishing out of the top-four at the end of the season.

As for Watford, they will be hoping to capitalise on the poor form of the home side and pick up their first three points on the 2019-20 season.
