Steven Gerrard wants Filip Helander at Aston Villa

Steven Gerrard was appointed as the Rangers boss in the summer of 2018 and in these past two years, the Gers have grown in leaps and bounds under their English boss.

Last season, Celtic were able to maintain their title-winning run with much ease but this campaign, things are different.

During the 2018-19 season, Rangers had the habit of dropping unnecessary points which clearly helped their Glasgow rivals win the Scottish Premiership but this time, it’s different.

Right now Celtic are sitting at the top of the Premiership table with Rangers just two points behind them. But the Gers have played one game less than their rivals.

And speaking to the press, Steven Gerrard has revealed that it was current Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp who had warned him that management is a 24/7 job.

“When you are a football club like this you face all sorts of challenges and learn lessons every single day”, Gerrard told a press conference as reported.

“It is everything I expected, a lot of pressure and working around the clock.

“Jurgen Klopp warned me you are always working around the clock in management and he was certainly right!”

Last season there were a few question marks over Steven Gerrard and some of his key decisions.

But over the course of last summer, Steven Gerrard has managed to tweak a number of things and has also managed to bring in players to strengthen his squad.

And up until now, the results are showing with Rangers losing only a single match this season so far in the league whereas Celtic have gone down in two matches.

So clearly, Steven Gerrard is taking massive strides in management and to be honest, he is building an impressive CV for when he approaches Liverpool for the managerial role at Anfield.
