Man United are still recovering from the 2-0 loss to Burnley in the Premier League on Wednesday and next up they take on Tranmere in the 4th Round of the FA Cup.

This will be an away fixture for Manchester United meaning the Red Devils will travel to Prenton Park in what will be their first-ever FA Cup.

This match couldn’t have come at a better time for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men to get things back on track by picking up an easy win and progressing to the next round.

The Man United manager is expected to make wholesome changes to his first XI during the weekend and a large number of youngsters are expected to be part of the squad.

Man United team news vs Tranmere:

David De Gea will not be travelling with the squad as Sergio Romero has been the club keeper for Man United this season.

Victor Lindelof missed the Burnley game due to illness but the Swede should be fit enough to start while Eric Bailly is expected to come into the side after a long injury lay-off.

Brandon Williams will make way for Luke Shaw while Aaron Wan-Bissaka will also be rested as Diogo Dalot plays at right-back.

The duo of Fred and Matic is in dire need of rest but with McTominay and Paul Pogba both out injured, they will once again start in central midfield.

Juan Mata has seen a consistent amount of game time during the past couple of weeks but since Tranmere should be an easy encounter, the Spaniard is not expected to make the trip with Jesse Lingard likely to play in the attacking midfielder’s role.

Angel Gomes should also get a start for Man United this weekend as Daniel James is given a much-deserved rest.

Mason Greenwood clearly should have started vs Burnley now that Marcus Rashford has been ruled out but the academy youngster is expected to play down the right-wing at Prenton Park.

With Rahsford ruled out for the next couple of months, the Man United boss is running short of options in the attacking department meaning Anthony Martial is likely to start up front.
