Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is planning to launch another coup to his former club Liverpool – according to reports.

The Gers manager has already brought his Ovie Ejaria on loan and John Flanagan on a free transfer from Liverpool and now if reports are to be believed they are now planning to move for Ben Woodburn.

Woodburn is a Liverpool academy product and he made his senior debut during the 2016-17 season. But despite making 5 league appearances in the first year, the 18-year-old has failed to make any sort of impact this past season.

And now if reports are to be believed then, Steven Gerrard wants the midfielder on a season-long loan at Ibrox.

Ben Woodburn is one of the brightest talents to have come out of the Liverpool academy during the past couple of years and Gerrard is hoping to convince Reds boss Jurgen Klopp to release the player.

The Light Blues manager is no stranger to the midfielder’s talents having worked with him for the U-19 team when Gerrard was managing at the Anfield academy.

Rangers midfielder Josh Windass has been the subject of interest from Premier League side Cardiff City and there is every possibility that Gerrard can lose him before the new season.

In such a scenario, Ben Woodburn will be a pretty fine replacement for Windass and given the fact that the Liverpool youngster is already a full-time internationalist with Wales will only help his growth at Ibrox.
