Rangers FC have started the new season on a positive note by securing a berth in the second round qualifiers at the Europa League by overcoming Macedonian side FC Shkupi.

The Gers won the first leg at Ibrox 2-0 and they went on to draw the second leg at the Philips II Arena 0-0. And while most of the fans have been happy with how the new look team is shaping up but some of them are not too pleased with one player.

A lot of the Light Blues fans have been highly critical about the start that Alfredo Morelos has had to the new campaign and some are wondering if he is the right man for the job.

Rangers signed the striker last summer from Finnish side Helsinki for a transfer fee which was reported to be in the region of £1 million and in the previous season 22-year-old managed to score 18 goals in 43 appearances for the Light Blues.

But last season not everyone was pleased with the signing as former Hibernian forward and current football pundit Tam McManus called out the Ibrox outfit for spending so much money on a player who was below average.

But the 37-year-old did not put it out so graciously as we have done right now.

McManus wrote: “I’m not usually right but I am on Morelos. If Rangers did indeed knock back 8m for him (doubtful) whoever sanctioned it should be immediately chased from Ibrox. Bang average. And a stinking attitude towards his teammates to boot.”

This did not go down too well with the Gers fans who lashed out on McManus and hurled abuses at him. Things reached to such a point that the pundit had to block a number of the Rangers fans after that incident.

But now that the Gers fans are themselves seeing the failures of Alfredo Morelos, Tam McManus has come out in order to get even with them.

McManus wrote on Twitter: “Is it time for me to unblock all the Rangers fans who gave me dogs abuse for saying Morelos was murder and they should have took the money?”

Alfredo Morelos might have had a good run infront of goal last season but this time around if he wishes to keep his place then he will have to prove himself to Steven Gerrard.

Especially with the arrival of Umar Sadiq from AS Roma and maybe one more new striker signing – if reports are anything to go by.
