Thomas Partey to Arsenal

Arsenal have been trying really hard to sign Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid in the summer but they might have just fallen behind in this transfer race – as per the rumours.

Thomas Partey was expected to sign a new contract with Atletico Madrid but recently there have been whispers of him talking with other clubs in order to secure an exit at the end of the season.

And even though his agent has denied any such conversations, but recently a top journalist from Ghana has confirmed that the player is indeed having talks with the interested clubs.

“I do not know the smallest details in the contract submitted by Atletico Madrid,” Ghanaian journalist Rahman Osman began. “But the description that I received from my sources stated that it did not meet the aspirations of the player and his team.

“This offer is ‘rubbish’ and therefore the player did not sign it.

“I contacted Thomas’ father and the quotes are real. He said that on the radio but was not authorized to publish those details.”

Now it seems like Arsenal aren’t the only club in signing the midfielder since Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have also joined the race to sign him in the summer.

Will Arsenal fall down the pecking order?

Bayern Munich are one of the biggest clubs in world football right now and if they are seriously interested in signing Thomas Partey then it’s a real cause of concern for the Gunners manager.

Arteta is really looking to bring in Thomas Partey as a replacement to Granit Xhaka but this entry from Bayern Munich could derail all his plans since no player at this point in time will choose to snub a team like Bayern Munich and join Arsenal.

By the time the next season kicks off, Javi Martinez will be 32-year-old which is why Bayern boss Hansi Flick is currently looking at Thomas Partey as a replacement to the midfielder.

It’s still unclear as to how serious the interest from Bayern actually is, but there’s no denying the Bavarians will be looking to bring in a number of new faces for the upcoming season.

And if Thomas Partey is one of them, then sadly there’s very little Arsenal can do about it right now.
