At the start of the 2018-19 Premier League season, Mesut Ozil was an integral part of Unai Emery’s plans at Arsenal.

But as the season has rolled along, the German has fallen out of favour under the new boss.

And right now things are so bad that Mesut Ozil does not even come on as a substitute as well.

Reports suggest that the pair has had a falling out and Unai Emery believes that Ozil has no place in his first XI and is willing to offload him.

The manager had plans to sell him off during the January transfer window but the club failed to do so.

But it is more or less certain that Mesut Ozil will be heading out of the Emirates during the summer since the club wants to free up funds in order to bring in new signings.

And speaking about the Unai Emery and Mesut Ozil situation, Ray Parlour has claimed that the manager has failed to handle the situation.

Parlour has claimed that Unai Emery had a similar ego clash with Neymar when he the manager at Neymar and it was the Spanish manager who had to eventually leave the club.

“It’s been a little bit like PSG under Neymar,” Ray Parlour said.

“Neymar ended up getting him the sack.

“He lost the dressing room and Neymar was pulling the strings there.

“Maybe it could be the same at Arsenal.”

While there are no real reports of rifts between Unai Emery and his players but surely a number of players will not be happy with how Mesut Ozil has been treated by the manager during the past couple of months.

Mesut Ozil has hardly started a game in the past couple of weeks even after Unai Emery constantly claimed that the playmaker has a big role to play during the second half of the season.
