Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has had a really weird past 12 months.

First, he received heavy criticism after Germany’s poor show during the Russia World Cup last summer but keeping all that behind, he planned to make a fresh start to the 2018-19 season under new Arsenal boss Unai Emery.

During the first couple of months, Mesut Ozil was a key figure for Emery and his plans but as the season rolled along, the German fell down the pecking order.

And at one point, it was more or less certain that the manager was planning to sell him off.

There were even reports that Arsenal wanted to get rid of Mesut Ozil in January itself but they could not find a buyer.

But once again, the player’s fortune seems to have.




During the past couple of weeks, Mesut Ozil has seen a lot of game time and the playmaker is expected to start once again when the Gunners take on Everton.

And speaking before the game, Unai Emery shared his thought on the German.

Asked if Mesut Ozil is working hard, Emery said(as reported): “Yes. He is working very well, he is playing well and he is helping us. I am very happy with him.

“I think now in the team we have a good atmosphere and good spirit. Each player is helping us with his quality and with good behaviour.

“This is the spirit I want so they are doing that, and Mesut is also.”

Many people believe, Mesut Ozil has won back the manager’s trust and Emery has now scrapped plans of selling him at the end of the season.




But that might actually not be the case simply because the Arsenal boss needs money during the summer in order to bring in more players.




As per reports, the Spanish manager will get only around 40 million pounds as transfer budget which is nothing in today’s day and age.

So clearly he will have to free up funds in order to make those buys. And right now, Mesut Ozil is the highest earning Gunner so…
