Former sprinter Usain Bolt has slowly been working his way into football and it finally seemed that his long dream of becoming a footballer was about to come true.
Usain Bolt was on trial with Central Coast Mariners in the A-League and made a couple of friendly appearances for the club – following which the management were impressed with his performances and decided to give the Jamaican a full-time contract.
But now it seems that his dream could come crashing down.
No, the Mariners have not decided to withdraw the contract and the deal is still very much on the table.
But it seems that the Manchester United fan is making some absurd demands.
The Central Coast Mariners were ready to offer Usain Bolt a deal worth $150,000 but as per the latest reports, the former sprinter wants $3 million.
Yes, $3 million.
The club though have no intentions of paying him such absurd amounts of money and have released a statement.
“To ensure that there is no distraction to the A-League squad in preparing for this weekend’s match v Melbourne City, Usain Bolt will not attend team training this week, until and if, the club and Usain Bolt can agree to terms and formalise an arrangement,” the statement said.
“Usain Bolt’s management and the Central Coast Mariners are in conversations with external partners to find a commercial solution that suits all parties.

“Without the financial contribution of an external third party, it is unlikely that Usain Bolt and the Central Coast Mariners will agree to terms.”
Even the Mariners coach Mike Mulvey has fired shots at Usain Bolt saying the sprinter is nowhere close to the league standards and will not even make it to the first eleven.
