Chelsea are set to let go a number of players next year and most of them will be leaving in January itself.

Maurizio Sarri has marked out the players who he needs at the clubs next season meaning the rest of them will be sold off.

One player that is most certainly free to go is defender Gary Cahill after the manager has officially made it clear that he has no need for him

Another player who is also heading for the exit doors is midfielder Danny Drinkwater.

Yes, for those of you who forgot, Danny Drinkwater is still at Chelsea.

The former Leicester man was a panic buy last year but he did go on to make a number of appearances under Antonio Conte.

But this year under Sarri, Danny Drinkwater is yet to play a single minute of competitive football(apart from the Community Sheild).

A number of Premier League clubs have been linked with the midfielder and now it seems even West Ham United have entered the race to sign him in January.

Manuel Pellegrini is willing to bring in him but the London outfit have a few conditions.

Chelsea signed Danny Drinkwater for a fee of £35 million but if they wish to offload him at the start of next year then they will have to let him go for a significantly lower value.

This is because West Ham United are not ready to shell out a big price for someone who is yet to play competitive football this season.

The second condition that the Hammers have is that Danny Drinkwater will have to take a significant wage cut is he wishes to join them in January.

According to some sources, earns around £100,000-a-week at Chelsea but West Ham will not be able to pay such a huge salary.

Danny Drinkwater is desperate to revive his career and it seems moving to West Ham United will be his best bet since the other club who want the midfielder are Fulham who are currently at the bottom of the league table and Ranieri too has the exact same conditions as that of the Hammers.
