West Ham United finished 10th last season in the Premier League but Manuel Pellegrini will be hoping to improve on that this time around.

Pellegrini spent a lot of money last summer and surely the Hammers looked a better side than they had been during the past few campaigns.

But they had a really poor start last time around which meant they had to spend a number of weeks in the relegation zone. This time though, Pellegrini will be hoping to make a good start so that they can get back into Europe next year.

West Ham vs Man City: West Ham news

West Ham have let a number of players leave this summer which means that we will surely get to see some new faces when Man City visit the London Stadium on Saturday.

The Hammers have released a string of players like Arnautovic, Carroll, Obiang and Nasri which means summer signing Pablo Fornals should get a start against the defending champions.

Pellegrini has also brought in Sébastien Haller and the 25-year-old should get a start on Saturday meaning he will be the lone striker playing upfront.

Mark Noble has been recovering from a thing injury and there is some doubt over his participation this weekend.

“Mark will start running probably in the middle of the week, so we will see what will happen with him. I think that it is going to be difficult for him to play.” Pellegrini had said.

The latest reports though claim, the midfielder will be fully fit and will play in central midfield alongside Declan Rice.

Fabianski picked up a hip injury and is currently being assessed with the manager saying: “Lukasz did an MRI today. He has a small injury, so we will see what happens with him during this week.”

But like Mark Noble, the keeper too should be fit to start vs Manchester City this weekend.

Balbuena and Issa Diop are likely to pair up in central defence while Fredericks and Cresswell are expected to as full-backs.
