West Ham United co-owner David Sullivan is currently out in the market looking to buy a new midfielder before the new season starts.

Hammers have been dealt with the blow of Manuel Lanzini’s injury who is set to miss the whole of next season with a knee injury and this has really limited, Manuel Pellegrini’s creative options for the upcoming campaign.

If reports are to be believed then the Hammers are planning to make a move for Sporting Lisbon’s midfielder Bruno Fernandes.

Fernandes started in Portugal’s 3-3 vs Spain in the World Cup a couple of weeks ago and now the London outfit wants to sign him up.

Bruno Fernandes moved to Portugal last summer from Sampdoria on a five-year deal but the midfielder like many of his teammates is planning to move out on a free transfer this transfer window.

A series of players are pushing to make an exit from Sporting before the new season after the players were attacked by a group of supporters at the training grounds since the team had failed to secure Champions League qualification.

West Ham had recently launched a 15 million pound bid for Juventus midfielder Stefano Sturaro which was swiftly rejected by the Serie A side.

We believe that the interest Bruno Fernandes has grown ever since Juve have refused to part ways with Stefano but some reports claim that Manuel Pellegrini rates Stefano Sturaro very highly and the Hammers will make a fresh bid in the coming weeks.

If West Ham do manage to land Bruno Fernandes then it would surely be a wonderful buy for the Premier League outfit given the fact that the Portuguese is one of the most versatile midfielders there is.

Bruno Fernandes can play in as many as six different positions in and around the midfield – both defensive and attacking, and has notched up 16 goals and 12 assists during the 2017-18 season.
