West Ham United are on the verge of signing winger Jesse Lingard from Manchester United on a short-term loan deal until the end of the season, according to talkSPORT.

The report claims: “West Ham are expected to announce the signing of Jesse Lingard on loan from Manchester United on Friday, talkSPORT understands.

“Lingard had been linked with the likes of Tottenham and Sheffield United, as well as a host of European clubs.

“But it appears he’s chosen West Ham, with the Hammers and the Red Devils agreeing a deal in principle for Lingard to join on loan.

“It’s understood West Ham are paying a loan fee and the England international’s wages for the rest of the 2020/21 season.”

The transfer window ends this weekend so clearly West Ham United will have to wrap up and announce the deal as soon as possible.

And given that the player has been actively training with the Manchester United squad all throughout the 2020-21 season, means he will likely be fit for selection this weekend when the Hammers take on Liverpool.

Jesse Lingard will get a fresh lifeline at the London Stadium given that he has not played even a single minute in the Premier League this season for Manchester United.

But it remains to be seen if the 28-year-old is fit and ready enough to be named in the starting XI on Sunday or not.

The Hammers are roll in the league, picking up 10 wins from their first 20 games and right now, they are sitting pretty at the fifth spot on the table.
