Anthony Martial wanted by West Ham United Man United

According to journalist Rudy Galetti(h/t Sports Mole), West Ham United are interested in signing Harry Maguire as well as Anthony Martial from Manchester United.

David Moyes’ side was keen to land Harry Maguire before the start of the season but somehow a deal could not materialize and as per the reporter, the Hammers will try and land him once again in 2024.

To add to this West Ham United are also keen to bring Anthony Martial on board, a player who has also been previously linked with the London club. Hojlund’s arrival has pushed Martial down the pecking order and so far, he’s played only 221 minutes of league football.

West Ham United have made a pretty strong start to their 2023/24 campaign and right now, they are ninth in the Premier League table The way they are playing, Moyes and his players will be dreaming of another European finish and if they can achieve that then the Hammers boss will get a bigger transfer budget, that’s for sure.

Will West Ham United be able to secure both these players?

West Ham United should not have any issues in signing Anthony Martial because he’s been a massive failure at Manchester United and Ten Hag has no use of him right now. However, there’s no way the United boss will want to sell him in January because the Frenchman is the only backup to Hojlund and United are not going to sign a new striker during the winter window.

In the summer, a transfer is very much possible and given how poor he’s been, West Ham should be able to get their hands rather easily.

The same cannot be said about Harry Maguire because the injury to Lisandro Martinez has pushed Maguire up the pecking order and the England international has been one of Man United’s top performers in recent weeks.

Maguire chose to fight for his place and his hard work has paid off so far. We still don’t know if he will start once Martinez returns but given how injury-prone Varane has been, Maguire will surely get a lot more opportunities from now until the end of the season.

Martial’s time at Manchester United is over and if a good enough bid comes in, Erik ten Hag will happily get rid of him however, the same cannot be said about Harry Maguire because the centre-back still has a chance to redeem his career at Old Trafford.

West Ham United will be confident of signing both these misfits but if Erik ten Hag gets sacked then the Hammers could struggle. A move in January is out of the picture for either of them but at the end of this season, Anthony Martial and to some extent, Harry Maguire could be on their way to the London Stadium.
