According to a report in Calciomercato, Arsenal and Newcastle United could try and sign Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot during the January window.

Adrien Rabiot joined Juve from PSG in 2019 but his career has hit a plateau in Turin. He’s played in only 187 games in all competitions in these four years and with his current contract expiring in 2024, Juventus have plans to offload him at the start of the new year.

The 28-year-old has started this season quite confidently though which is why the club has already offered him a new contract however, as per reports, the midfielder has paused talks to chalk out his future plans. He had signed a one-year deal in 2023 after failing to secure a move to Manchester United and while Juventus are confident that he is going to commit his future further the Old Lady are keeping their options open with two big Premier League clubs interested in him.

Will Adrien Rabiot be a Premier League player in January?

Arsenal and Newcastle United are both on the lookout for a new central midfielder and Adrien Rabiot can very well be that man. The Gunners are planning to cash in on Thomas Partey while NUFC are looking for a replacement for Sandro Tonali.

Rabiot has been a strong performer for Juventus and if Juventus put him in the market then both Arsenal and Newcastle will try and sign him but we have a feeling that Thomas Partey is going to hold the key to his transfer.

Newcastle United and Juventus are both keeping tabs on Partey and if Arsenal are serious about signing Rabiot then they could try and use the Ghanaian international as a counter-weight.

Since joining the Gunners, Thomas Partey has probably spent more time on the treatment table than on the pitch which is why Mikel Arteta wants to get rid of him and the manager can very well look for a swap deal.

A player like Adrien Rabiot can succeed in the EPL but we personally think Massimiliano Allegri will be more happy if the midfielder signs the new contract. He’s already lost Paul Pogba which is why Juventus are looking to sign Thomas Partey and in such a scenario, the manager won’t like losing a player like Adrien Rabiot.

The French midfielder is refusing to commit his future to Juventus which is a good sign for Arsenal and Newcastle United and if he cannot make up his mind by the end of this year, Juventus, no matter how bad they feel, will have to cash in on him in January.
