Alfredo Morelos is easily the most important player in the Rangers squad right now but according to Ally McCoist, the club should let him leave as soon as possible.
There are a number of clubs who have been trying to sign the Colombian this summer and according to McCoist, Steven Gerrard is just delaying the inevitable, something that is not good for the club.
Speaking on BT Sport, he said, via The Scottish Sun: “You can tell a lot by people’s body language and I just don’t think his body language is giving off a good vibe to the Rangers support, shall we say.
“And to use Steven’s quote ‘his head’s been turned’. It looks to me as if his head’s somewhere else.
“I still think he doesn’t look as fit as he should or could be looking at him.
“And I think it’s safe to say with the two lads Rangers have brought in, I certainly don’t think they will hang about if the right offer comes in or, more importantly, leaving him out the team if he doesn’t warrant a place in the team.
“I know we’ll have the conversation that you might be cutting the selling price down if he doesn’t play but at the same time, the way he’s performed the last two games, he’s certainly not adding to his value.”
UPDATE ON ALFREDO MORELOS FUTURE:
And just hours after McCoist uttered these words, reports are suggesting that Rangers have rejected a £16.25m offer from Lille which is why the Ligue 1 side are no longer interested in signing the Colombian.
It’s clear that manager Steven Gerrard is trying to hold onto Alfredo Morelos for one more season(so that he can knock Celtic off their throne) but it’s now clearly evident that the player is no longer interested in remaining in Scotland.
