Arsenal take on Liverpool in the English Premier League on Wednesday and according to Charlie Nicholas, the Gunners could be in a heap of trouble.

The Emirates outfit went down to Tottenham Hotspur in the North London Derby during the weekend, primarily due to lapses in defence and according to the pundit, a repeat of the same could happen vs the current champions.

He wrote for Sky Sports: “Arsenal should have gone on to win the game against Tottenham – they had better shape and they were creating much more.

“But they got lazy in the second half, and it was the same old story.

“Arsenal had plenty of the ball, but then Sead Kolasinac makes a mistake, Shkodran Mustafi makes two or three. On a positive note though, Arsenal look like they have goals in them.

“This Liverpool team are still 10-15 yards off the Premier League champions they are. They will pop it about against a weak defensive side.

“Arsenal’s shape has improved, but their defenders have not, and that could come back to haunt them again.”

It’s very hard to see Arsenal picking up all three points against Liverpool in midweek since their defence will be the biggest concern for the Mikel Arteta.

Even Arteta knows that the likes of Salah and Mane can tear his defensive line-up to shreds and players like Luiz and Sokratis will have to be at the top of their game for the whole 90 minutes if they even wish to pick up a point.

Also, if the Gunners fail to pick up a win in midweek then surely they will fall out of Europe next season.
