Arsenal take on Watford at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday in the final matchweek of the English Premier League and the outcome of this game does not hold any significance for the Gunners.

Even if they pick up a win, Arsenal will not be able to finish seventh on the table meaning winning the FA Cup is their only way to the Europa League next season.

With nothing much at stake, Mikel Arteta could field a lot of youngsters vs the Hornets on Sunday which could help the relegation battling side pick up a much-needed win.

Pundit Charlie Nicholas also expects the Arsenal boss to rotate his squad during the weekend in order to keep his star players fresh but at the same time, he expects the Gunners to come out with all three points from this match.

He wrote for Sky Sports: “Arsenal looked pretty empty on gas against Aston Villa, but there’s some serious risks Watford are taking in sacking Nigel Pearson and throwing Hayden Mullins in at the deep end.

“Apart from the goalkeeper, Ben Foster, there’s not really anyone in form.

“For Arsenal, the league emphasis has gone, it’s about being competitive for the FA Cup final. I think Mikel Arteta will make a couple of changes, but they’ll want to finish the season well.

“He’s doing a good job, he’s taken over a mess and is making it better. I think they’ll have a response from Tuesday night – Arteta will be telling the players some of them are playing for their futures, others for a place in the FA Cup final line-up.

“I think Watford are seriously in danger of going down, but I think Arsenal will win anyway.”

Watford have won just two out of their last six league outings and in their previous PL match, the Hornets were crushed by a margin of 4 goals to nil by Manchester City.

While we do not expect Arsenal to pull out such an extravagant performance on Sunday but players like Reiss Nelson, Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah have enough talent to ensure that the home side finish the season on a positive note.
