Man United have been linked with a move for Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer and finally, they might be able to sign him – as per reports.

The Gabon international has already scored 17 goals in the Premier League this season but is about to enter the final year of his contract at the Emirates. And right now he is reluctant to sign a new deal at the club meaning the Mikel Arteta has the risk of losing him for free next year.

The Gunners are trying really hard to keep him at the club beyond the summer but now it seems like they have given up hope with the Daily Mail reporting that Arsenal have decided to put him up for sale at the end of this season.

The Daily Mail are claiming: “Arsenal have shelved Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s contract talks as doubts over his future grow.

“The Gabon striker earns in the region of £200,000 per week and wants a significant upgrade on his current deal to sign an extension.”

If this is true then surely it’s great news for Man United who are have been keeping tabs on Aubameyang’s contract situation for a long time as Ole looks to bring in a new centre-forward in the summer.

But even though, Arsenal are willing to part ways with their star forward we do not think Manchester United will try and make a move for him.

Why Man United might snub a move for Aubameyang:

The Red Devils have money to spend in the upcoming transfer window but according to Charlie Nicholas, Arsenal might only be ready to let Aubameyang leave if they get a massive transfer fee in exchange.

Nicholas recently said: “He is a magical goalscorer, but the only way I can accept if he moves on is if Arsenal say he won’t sign a new contract and they have had offers for him. If they get an offer of around £60m-£80m, and accept that they need to rebuild the defence, then I would buy into that.

“I could accept if they get good money for him, as I am not convinced he will sign, and Arsenal can then rebuild in the process. Arsenal would miss his goals, but I do not think they would miss him greatly as an individual player.”

The way Solskjaer has been moving about in the past two transfer windows we do not think the Man United boss will be too eager to spend £60 odd million on a player who is about to turn 31 in June.

Solskjaer has been roping in young talent who can remain at the club meaning he would be much more inclined to spend a large sum of money on someone like Harry Kane who is just 26 years old.
