A couple of decades ago football was simple.

But with each passing day, the game is getting more and more complicated – mostly for the betterment of it.

Players these days need to be at the top of their physical fitness in order to compete at the highest level which demands a lot of sacrifices as well as innovations.

And one such innovation was seen during Manchester City’s win over Newcastle United this past weekend.

City won the game 2-1 and the match-winning goal was scored by England International Kyle Walker with a 25-yard screamer.

But that goal was not the only thing that caught the attention of the fans everyone was transfixed with the weird looking socks that he was wearing during the match.

And fans immediately started coming up theories as to why Walker’s socks looked so different.

Well, in reality, the socks had holed in them – that too for good reason.

The holes were made deliberately in order to relieve tension and prevent pain in the lower leg muscles.

At first many believed this was just a style statement from the Man City man but now we know that Walker had done it so that he can perform at his highest level.
