As per The Sun, Chelsea are interested in signing goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale who’s fallen down the pecking order this season at Arsenal.

The English keeper was superb for the Gunners last season, starting all 38 games in the Premier League but Arsenal have signed David Raya in the summer and slowly, Aaron Ramsdale has lost his importance.

He did start the first few matches this campaign but as the season has rolled along, Mikel Arteta has made it clear(via his team selections) that Raya is going to be the number one throughout the season. Aaron Ramsdale is willing to fight for his position in the side but as the months roll along, more and more clubs are showing an interest in signing the 25-year-old.

Bayern Munich have been keeping tabs on this development for a few weeks and now, Chelsea seem to have also joined the bandwagon however it is hard to see them spend money on Aaron Ramsdale because they have just signed Roberto Sanchez from Brighton for a fee of around £25 million.

Yes, Sanchez has not been an instant success at the club but Pochettino has other problematic areas to sort out and next summer, the goalkeeping position will be the least of his concerns.

If Aaron Ramsdale does not get regular gaming time then Bayern Munich will be confident of signing the England keeper but as per reports, Mikel Arteta has no plans to offload Ramsdale any time soon.

Fabrizio Romano has made it clear that Arsenal will not allow Ramsdale to leave in January but even the Italian transfer expert has refused to rule out an exit at the end of the season.

“The Aaron Ramsdale situation could be one to keep open, but at the moment I’m not aware of any negotiations. The goalkeeper market is a bit different from outfield players – it’s not easy for a goalkeeper to find a top club who can guarantee playing time,” Romano said, via Caught Off Side.

“At the moment there is nothing concrete, nothing close, Arsenal are not negotiating with any club, and the idea is for Ramsdale to compete with David Raya until the end of the season. They still hope Ramsdale will accept this, and then they will make a decision in the summer transfer window.”

If the situation doesn’t improve for Aaron Ramsdale then he will definitely consider leaving for greener pastures but we doubt if Chelsea will want to spend money on him. Unless Roberto Sanchez turns out to be an absolute disaster, the Blues will put their full focus on signing a world-class centre forward.

If Arsenal do decide to sell Aaron Ramsdale then a lot of suitors will queue up to sign such a wonderful talent but Mikel Arteta will prefer to send him out of the Premier League rather than selling him to a direct rival.
